Roger Mccarter, Sr.

Roger Warren McCarter, Sr., 58, of 485 Cresthaven Drive, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born January 26, 1951, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Venie Poteat McCarter of Spartanburg and the late Warren Debbs McCarter. He was the owner of Roger McCarter Construction Company for 42 years. A member of LifeChangers Outreach Center where he served as an Elder, he helped to build, nurture, and sustain LifeChangers. He loved his family, his God, the great outdoors, and was a hard worker who loved to share his faith in God. Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Karen Calloway McCarter; two daughters, Carrie Greer and her husband Glenn of Lyman, and Lori Greene and her husband Travis of Boiling Springs; three sons, Roger W. McCarter, Jr. and Steven R. McCarter, both of Inman, and Daniel G. McCarter and his wife Lauren of Greer; four sisters, Carolyn Horton, Joyce McGill, Martha Fortner, and Miriam Morgan, all of Spartanburg; a brother, Joe W. McCarter of Boiling Springs; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, April 6, 2009, at LifeChangers Outreach Center conducted by Pastor Travis Carter. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens.
