Roger Floyd Luttrell, 79, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Born in Barberton, OH on October 25, 1946. He was the son of the late Floyd and Marthanelle Luttrell.

Roger retired as a professor of Accounting at Converse College after 25 years. Roger and his beloved wife, Barbara shared 56 wonderful years of marriage.

Roger was a generous man who served Jesus through helping others. He taught multiple Bible studies and used his financial knowledge to help non-profits steward their resources. Roger and his wife Barbara were founding members of HopePoint Community Church. Although Roger’s family is brokenhearted and will miss him, they also rejoice that he is now resting with Jesus in his eternal home.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Luttrell; his son John Luttrell; his daughter Dana Garner; his grandson, Logan Garner; his granddaughter, Savannah Luttrell; his son-in-law, Chuck Garner; and his daughter-in-law, Robin Luttrell. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Rebecca Vanke.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at HopePoint Community Church, 1185 Asheville Hwy Spartanburg, SC 29303. There will be a receiving of friends and family after the service.

Roger will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
