Roger Compton

October 27, 1939 — August 17, 2018

Roger Lee Compton, 78, beloved husband of Judy Hensley Compton, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at his home. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and received his Master of Audiology degree from the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville. He was a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He retired from the Charles Lea Center as Head of Speech and Hearing Clinic after many years of service. Since 1982, he has been the Audiologist and owner of The Audiology Clinic in Gaffney, SC. Roger was a former member of Spartanburg Sertoma Club. He was currently serving as the Vice President of his Home Owners Association. He was an avid golfer and loved gardening. Fond and loving memories are shared by his survivors: wife, Judy Compton, daughter, Lisa Clary Ward of San Antonio, TX, son, Broughton "Chip" Clary and wife, Beth of Spartanburg, SC, grandchildren, Michael Watford and wife, Elliott of San Antonio, TX, Zachary Clary and Hayden Clary of Spartanburg, SC. A Celebration of the Life for Roger Compton will be held at 5:00 PM Monday, August 20, 2018 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
