Rodney Gardner, 57, was born on March 17, 1968. He was the husband of his beautiful wife Lesa Berry Gardner for 38 years. He was the beloved son of Roy and Pam Gardner, the brother of Chad Gardner (Lindsay), the father of Cassie Burts (Robert) and Cole Gardner (Bri). He is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was also a deeply loved grandaddy to Casyn, Harper, Janie, Blake, and Sophie, who each held a special place in his heart.
Rodney was a steady presence in the lives of his family, known for his work ethic, his reliability, and the way he showed up in practical ways. He was a provider, a fixer, and someone who took pride in caring for those entrusted to him.
One of the greatest joys of his life was becoming “Grandaddy”. Time spent with his grandchildren brought him laughter, pride, and a softness that was unmistakable. He delighted in watching them grow and cherished every moment he had with them.
Rodney was devoted to his work family at Eurolink, where he was respected for his dedication and the genuine care he showed to those around him. His faith shaped the way he understood responsibility, forgiveness, and the importance of family.
Rodney was a man who knew both strength and struggle, and his life was marked by love, grace, and the hope of redemption. He believed in God’s mercy and trusted in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, fully restored, and held in the presence of the Lord.
His life, imperfect and deeply human, leaves behind a legacy not of faultlessness, but of love, forgiveness, and faith that will be carried forward by those who loved him.
A memorial service to honor Rodney’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Floyd Greenlawn Chapel with Pastor Fred Quidley and Craig Penland officiating the service. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 AM prior to the service at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one of his favorite nonprofits, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, www.shp.org
The arrangements are trusted to the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
