Robert Turner

Robert Dennis Turner, 93, of Moore, SC, died Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 28, 1929 in Pacolet, SC, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Eula Mae Crow Turner and the husband of the late Tressie Irene Turner.

A US Air Force veteran, Mr. Turner was retired with the Spartanburg Herald-Journal after serving over 45 years of service, he then worked for many years at Wes Bolick Furniture. He was a member of First Baptist Spartanburg for over 20 years. Robert and Tressie had beloved friends at Holston Creek Baptist Church, where they attended for over 20 years.

Survivors include his son, Robert Dennis Turner, Jr.; his daughter, Delette T. Smith; grandchildren, Michael Waddel, Kristie Leah Garrett and Ashlie Turner; along with many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and special friends of the family, Denise Braziel and family. He was also predeceased by siblings, Naomi Williams, Viola Turner, Ruth T. McAllister, Mary Ellen Bush, Cynthia T. Bedard, and Edward Turner.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2023 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Brian Redding. A Gathering will be after the graveside service.
