Robert Charles Lawter, 63, of Inman, South Carolina passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Robert was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Malcolm Charles Lawter and the late Alma Juanita Ward Lawter. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Malcolm Charles Lawter Jr.
Robert was a transportation driver with Spartanburg School District 2. He was an avid Clemson Fan. He enjoyed fishing and going on cruises. He was a past member of Woodman of the World. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife; Patti Lawter; his two daughters: Nichole Valles (Raymond) and Beth Lawter (fiancé: J.J. Johnson); grandchildren: Christa Johnson, Madison Davidson, Jonathan “Bubba” Johnson, Malcolm Johnson, Killian Lawter and Ronin Valles, Carson Earnhart, and Jaxon Earnhart; and a brother: David Lawter (Jennifer).
The funeral service to honor Robert’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Pastor Mitchell Edge will be officiating the service. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Robert’s memories will continue to live in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
The arrangements are trusted to the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
