Robert “Bob” Paul Smith, Jr., 92, of Spartanburg, South Carolina entered his Heavenly home on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

Bob, as he was affectionately known, was born in Woodruff, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Robert Paul Smith, Sr and the late Myrtle Lizzie Williams Smith. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Smith Holden and Kathryn Smith Findley; two brothers: James Harold Smith and Donald Smith; brother-in-law: Roy P. Garrett.

Bob served his country proudly in the National Guard. He worked in the textile industry before moving into the chemical industry working at ABCO Industries where he retired after twenty-seven years of dedicated employment. In retirement he really enjoyed driving for several car dealerships in Spartanburg. He was a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church and a man of strong faith. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed baseball and coached Little League for many years. He also enjoyed working in his yard and tending to his vegetable garden. In his spare time, you could find him fishing and talking about the big one that got away. Bob was loved by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Left to cherish Bob’s wonderful memories are his wife of over 68 years: Kathryn Lucille Smith; a son: Alan Smith (Dot); his daughter: Lisa Smith Davis (Todd); one brother: Charles Smith (Claudette); and two sisters: Evelyn Garrett and Carolyn Sherbert (Jerry), and sister-in-law Dorothy Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends between 10:00 – 10:50 AM on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
