Rita May Kollmeyer

Rita May Kollmeyer, 95, of Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Rita was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John Charles Engel and Florence Sophia Engel. She was also preceded in death by her husband Paul H. Kollmeyer.

Rita was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish Rita’s many memories are her sons: John Kollmeyer (Kathy) of Clemmons, North Carolina and David Kollmeyer (Nancy) of Chester, Illinois; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren that will cherish her many memories.

A graveside service to honor Rita’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jeff VanOsbol officiating.

The arrangements are entrusted into the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
