Richard Brian “Quake” Stacey, 57, of Spartanburg, passed away on Sunday morning, April 19, 2026, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Richard was born on May 9, 1968, in Spartanburg, SC, a son of Wanda Horne Beach of Spartanburg, SC and the late Carroll Dean Stacey.
Richard was employed for over 14 years with Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Environmental Services. He had previously worked for Cone Mills in North Carolina.
Playing the drums brought much joy to Richard. He was asked by his church, Ledford Grove Baptist Church, to play for their worship services. In his younger years, Richard’s drumming talents were showcased in a local band. Fishing was another favorite pastime for Richard.
Along with his mother, Richard is survived by his brothers, Jerry Stacey of Spartanburg and Phillip Stacey (Nicole) of Cowpens, SC; and five nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Richard was also predeceased by his stepfather, Jack Larry Beach.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Pastor Ethan Gardner. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
