Richard Dubose Sr.

Richard Patrick "Pat" DuBose Sr., 86, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, August 13, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 22, 1932, in Marion, SC, he was the son of the late John Boyd "JB" and Lillian "Billie" Hatchell DuBose. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. DuBose was a graduate of Wofford College. He was an industrial engineer, retiring from Spartan Mills, and was a member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara "Bobbie" Ann Newman DuBose; sons, Richard Patrick DuBose Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC and Stephen "Steve" Daryl DuBose of Forest City, NC; granddaughters, Jade MacDonald (Chris) of Yadkinville, NC and Danielle DuBose of Charlotte, NC; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ellie and Olive McDonald. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Paul Boyd DuBose. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 PM Friday, August 17, 2018, in Davis Chapel of First Baptist Church Spartanburg, 250 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29306, with services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Bob Neely. Burial will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2018, in Cypress Cemetery, Sandy Grove Church Rd., Lamar, SC 29069.
