Rebecca "Becky" Baker

Rebecca "Becky" Baker, age 91, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in Spartanburg.  Becky joined the Lord and her loved ones.  She was the wife of the late Alonzo David Baker.  She was born in Gainesville, GA, on May 22, 1932, and was a daughter of the late John Samuel and Mamie McNeal Sexton.

Becky retired from Arkwright Mills as a Lab Technician, followed by volunteering at Mary Black Memorial Hospital for thirteen years.  She was "Nanny" to Jackson, Grace, and Brady Eubanks who she loved as her own. Becky also enjoyed organizing, cooking, and entertaining for gatherings whether it be for family, her church, or office parties.

As a member of Bethel Assembly of God, she taught Sunday School, was a choir member, and president of Women's Ministries.  She also served on the SC State Board of Women's Ministries.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Michael "Mike" Baker and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, Russell "Rusty" Baker and five sisters, Elizabeth Duncan, Lillian Linder, Johnnie Ghanayem, Mary Ann Harmon, and Nell Caldwell.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 24, from 12:00 - 12:45pm at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.  Becky's Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm in the Chapel, conducted by Rev. Jan King and Pastor Phil Duke. Burial will follow the funeral in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
