Raymond Edward King

Raymond Edward King, 85, of Spartanburg passed away on November 08, 2023 at his home. A native of Spartanburg he was born May 31, 1938, a son of Marion “Boots” and Mary King.

In his early years he was a professional musician. He worked for Southern Railroad as a carman for 17 years before retirement.

Raymond treasured his family. He loved to fish and his time on Lake Greenwood spent with his beloved wife, Sarah and his family and friends. He will be missed greatly.

Surviving are his sons, Steven of Spartanburg and Mark (Tammy) of Spartanburg.  His grandchildren, Jason (Casey) of Lyman, Damian (Samantha) of Pacolet, Stephanie Witz (Sean) of Merrill, Wisconsin, Savannah Junkin (Eric) of Chesnee and Brittany King of Spartanburg and ten great-grandchildren.

Raymond was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sarah P. King, his parents and his brother Paul King.

The service of entombment will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, November 13, 2023, in the chapel of the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307 with grandson, Jason King officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Agape Hospice of Spartanburg or to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, 419 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
