Randolph Lowery, Jr.

Mr. Randolph Lowery, Jr., affectionately known as Sonny Boy, a son of the late Mr. Randolph Lowery, Sr., and Mrs. Annie Mae Porter Lowery, was born March 5, 1934, in Spartanburg County, SC and died on Wednesday morning, November 1, 2023. He was retired from ABCO Chemicals. 

Mr. Lowery was baptized on May 28, 1961, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a member of the Spartanburg East Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, two sons, Ray and Ronald Lowery, three sisters, Shirley Giles, Lois Lowery and Ruby Lowery. Mr. Lowery is survived by two sisters, Betty Jean Lowery of Pacolet, SC, and Mary Lee Thomas of Spartanburg, SC. 

Mr. Lowery is also survived by his six daughters, Diane Burgess of Inman, SC, Velma Davis (Stan) of Laurens, SC, Carol Lowery of Duncan, SC, Sue Waters of Woodruff, SC, Sandra Lowery Casey of Newberry and Amanda Lowery of Spartanburg, SC and two sons, Jim Lee Lowery of St. Louis, MO, and Melvin Lowery of the home. 

Mr. Lowery was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. 

A service to celebrate and honor the life of Mr. Randolph Lowery, Jr. will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Spartanburg East Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3710 Cannons Campground Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Brother Howard Harris.  The family will greet friends following the service at the home of Diane Burgess, 237 Lamppost Road, Inman, SC.
