Randall “Randy” Lee Raker, a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, and respected community servant, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born on May 20, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana, Randall was the son to the late David Randal Raker and Evelyn (Shemwell) Patrick.

Randy proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, a commitment that highlighted his deep sense of duty and honor. Following his military service, he continued to serve the public as a Police Officer in Crown Point, Indiana, where he worked diligently to protect and assist his community. Randy also devoted over three decades to the United States Postal Service, retiring from the Post Office in Taylors, South Carolina.

Randy absolutely loved spending time at home tending to his yard, finding peace and satisfaction. He enjoyed socializing with his close friends while playing dominoes and cards, and he was known as a movie buff with a particular interest in Westerns and crime shows. His passion for golf was evident; he seized every opportunity to play a round when he had the time.

Randy held the position of Deacon, at Church at the Mill, one of his proudest moments as he committed to his faith and to serving his church community.

He is survived by his beloved and loving wife, Janet Raker, who misses him dearly and was truly his life’s companion. Randy is also lovingly remembered by his daughters, Stacy Howlett (Michael) and Christa Hull (Jeff), as well as his grandchildren, Fiona Howlett, Hayden Hull, and Mason Hull, all of whom brought him great joy and pride. Randy was predeceased by his son, Joseph “Joe” Raker.

A private "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date.
