On October 8th, 2022, Ralph D. Allen, 88, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Anne Allen.
Ralph was a lifelong citizen of Spartanburg, SC. He dutifully served his country as a soldier in the United States Army. In his community, he served as a police officer and detective before moving on to other opportunities and careers. He was a faithful and devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg.
Ralph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He worked hard for everything he achieved in life, and he appreciated everything he earned. He made impressions on people effortlessly and inspired a lot of love.
Ralph is survived by his son, Rodney Allen of Clemmons, NC, his grandchildren Ryan (Amber) Allen of Lexington, NC, Dr. Ashley (Greg) Fleshman of Thayne, Wyoming, six great-grandchildren, Cadence, Emilie and Rockwell Allen, and Noah, Zackariah, and Isaac Fleshman.
If you knew Ralph, remember him with love and take solace that his spirit lives on in the family he leaves behind. Let us celebrate and rejoice now, the wonderful reunion of Ralph and Anne. They are reunited after a five year pause in which Ralph visited her final resting place daily. His devotion to her both during life and after is a testament to true love. If you were blessed enough to know them, you will remember and if you didn’t just know their commitment to one another set the bar. Let us all embrace the beauty of that love and be happy that they are together once again.
Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Friday, October 14, 2022 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Donald J. Wilton.
