Rachel Simmons Christian

Rachel Simmons Christian, 86, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Magnolia Manor Spartanburg. A native of Spartanburg, she was born on August 8, 1936, a daughter of the late Jesse and Mae Hughes Simmons and the widow of the late James Marvin Christian.

Surviving are her two daughters, Sheila Melton and Sharon Lanier (Donnie); two grandchildren, Justin Ponder and Sammy Schrimsher; brother, Robert Simmons. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Steve Christian.

Graveside service will be held at 12 o’clock Noon, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Magnolia Manor, 375 Serpentine Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
