Peter Baumann, 75, died on September 3, 2026, in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. Born on December 8, 1950, Peter Baumann built a life marked by dedication to his work and a genuine connection with the many people he met along the way.

He attended textile college in Switzerland and went on to become a weaving machine specialist, remaining with the same company for 44 years. His work took him to many countries, where he met a great number of people through his travels and professional experience. Peter was known as someone who liked to talk to people and who smiled often. He was well liked by everyone who knew him, and his warm way with others left a lasting impression in both his personal life and throughout his career.

Even as he faced cancer and eventually lost his ability to speak, Peter never lost his sense of humor. He continued joking and communicating with those around him through his tablet, showing the strength, warmth, and positive spirit that remained a part of him even during difficult days.

In addition to his education and long professional career, Peter also completed basic training in the Swiss army. Peter’s life was closely tied to Switzerland through his education, military training, and career, and to the many places his work allowed him to see. Throughout those years, he remained devoted to his craft as a weaving machine specialist and to the connections he made with people wherever he went.

He is remembered by his wife, Elisabeth Baumann, and his brother, Walter Baumann and his many friends. Peter Baumann will be remembered for a long working life, his travels, his easy conversation, and the smile and humor he continued to share with others.
