Peggy Jo Mcguire

Peggy Jo McGuire, 79, of Boiling Springs, SC passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at White Oak Estates. Born April 20, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Clyde William and Cordie Mae Burgess Hawkins.

Mrs. McGuire was a simple lady, she loved the outdoors, especially gardening and camping. She was a very loving, caring wife and mother. She spent as much time as she could with her family, loving on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Joe Wayne McGuire; daughters, Candy Weathers (Chad) of Chesnee and Kookie McGuire of Columbia; grandchildren, Preston Weathers (Brittany) of Chesnee, Noah Weathers (Kayla) of Cliffside, NC, and Olivia Dean of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Carolina Weathers, Cliffton Weathers, Clyde Weathers, Colten Weathers; and siblings, Sandra Watson (Chuck) of Boiling Springs, Marshall Hawkins (Nancy) of Boiling Springs, Marvin Hawkins of Boiling Springs, and Terry Hawkins (Diane) of Landrum. She was predeceased by her parents; siblings, Raymond Hawkins, Larry Hawkins, Wayne Hawkins, and Barbara Harmon; and great-granddaughter, Zadie Weathers.

A graveside service will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2023, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Kyle Cayton. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
