Peggy Ann Varner

Peggy Varner, age 88, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her residence in New Port Richey, Florida on September 7th, 2023. She was born on June 17, 1935, in Westminster, South Carolina to the late Styles Crump and Ina Sprouse Crump. 

Peggy was a remarkable woman who led her life with grace and compassion. She was a longtime member of the North Spartanburg Freewill Baptist Church, she will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Peggy lived all her life in Spartanburg before moving in 2010 to be with her son, and grandchildren in New Port Richey, FL.

Peggy will be forever remembered by her loving family and friends. Peggy was a dedicated mother to her three children: Mike Varner (Rita) of Inman, SC, Ron Varner (Agnes) of New Port Richey, FL, and Debbie Jones of Summerville, SC.

She adored her nine grandchildren: April Varner Metcalf, Tonya Varner Horton, Ashely Jones, Brandon Jones, Anna Olivia Varner-Monds, Philip Varner, Kaleigh Varner, Liam Varner, and Trisha Varner Zayas. Peggy Ann also cherished her twelve great-grandchildren: Macy, Raegan, Jarren, Hunter, Dawson, Adam, Alex, Timmy, Hudson, Gage, Jadlyn and Aryia; in addition to her two great great-grandchildren: Cross Easler, Ronnie Jones.

In addition to her loving husband, William R. Varner, Peggy is predeceased by her son, Timothy Varner and her brothers, Bobby Crump and James Crump.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on September 24, 2023, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.  Services will be officiated by The Rev. Bud Robbins. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until service and following the service.

May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her family and friends find solace in the beautiful memories they shared with Peggy.
