Palma Jean Conner, 77, of Greer, S.C., passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Palma was the beloved daughter of the late John Dexter Henry and the late Edna Lawing Henry Marlowe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Conner; her sister, Marlene Henry Gifford; and her brothers-in-law, Don Medley and Harold Gifford.
A proud graduate of Converse College, Class of 1970, Palma spent much of her professional life as a dedicated hotel manager at the Holiday Motel in Greer. Following her retirement, she found joy and fulfillment in serving as a substitute teacher. Palma was of the Baptist faith and had a lifelong love for animals, generously opening her heart and home to countless rescues over the years.
Palma delighted in playing cards and cherished time spent with her family and dear friends. Her warmth, wit, and compassion will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter: Kim Conner Gaillard (Clay); grandchildren, Eli and Katherine Gaillard; sister, Sandra Henry Medley; and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as longtime companion Donnie Greer, his children Christopher Greer and Megan Greer (Jason Estrada), and grandchildren Aria and Xander.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Floyd Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, S.C., 29307. A celebration of Palma’s life will follow at 12:00 PM, with burial afterward at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance of a life filled with love, service, and grace.
Arrangements are entrusted to Floyd Greenlawn Chapel.
