Norbert Keith "Woody" Wood

Mr. Norbert Keith "Woody" Wood, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born on June 1, 1935, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of the late Anna Pearl Wilkerson Wood.

Norbert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and successful career with RCA/BMG, where he retired as plant manager after 47 years. His commitment to excellence and his steadfast work ethic were hallmarks of his life.

A devoted husband, Norbert shared 69 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joyce Laura (Goble) Wood. Their enduring love was a cornerstone of his life. Together they raised a large and loving family that brought him great joy; surrounded by their love, he cherished every moment spent with them.

An avid fisherman with a passion for bass fishing, Norbert found peace and fulfillment on the water. He also deeply enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating countless memories over the years. A lifelong Catholic, Norbert’s faith was an integral part of his life.

Norbert is survived by his wife, Joyce; their children, Pamela (Kevin) Stanley, Keith Wood, Brenda Wood, Daniel (Andrea) Wood, Eric Wood, Jeffery (Julie) Wood, and Melinda (Matt) Manziano; as well as 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, and siblings, Katherine, Billy, Bobby, and Buddy.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at Jesus Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, 255 Reidville Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29301.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at Jesus Our Risen Savior Catholic Church followed by a time of fellowship at the reception hall.  A private burial will be held in Westwood Memorial Gardens. Services will be conducted by Father Eric Paluku. 

Norbert Keith "Woody" Wood lived a full and remarkable life marked by dedication to his faith, family, and career. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best—his family and friends.
