N. Gaye Broome

N. Gaye Fowler Broome, 79, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Born December 30, 1942, in Tallahassee, FL, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Sudie Mae Montgomery Fowler. She was the wife of the late Charles Daniel Broome “Danny” for 53 years.

Gaye retired from Mary Black Memorial Hospital after 42 years of service and was a member of the Church of the Covenant United Methodist Church.

She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Broome Sparks (Bert) and Charlene Broome Medford (Chad). She was known as “GiGi” to her grandchildren, Creighton Montgomery Sparks and Tyler Gage Medford. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Gaile Guinn and brother, Nelson Fowler.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 233 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306, with receiving of friends to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be designated to the Alzheimer’s Association, 901 South Pine Street Spartanburg, SC 29302.
