Nancy "Emma Jean" Parker, of Spartanburg, passed away on August 15, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born on February 24, 1946, in Spartanburg, she is the daughter of the late Henry and Maggie McCarter.
Emma Jean was a charter member of Northview Baptist Church, where she was Director of WMU (Women's Missionary Union) and Sunday School teacher for many years. She was the co-owner of CRP Tax Service.
Emma Jean is survived by her daughter, Renee Parker Greenway; her grandsons, Bryan Barefoot (Jennifer) and Parker Spangler (Shanna); and her eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Jerry McCarter, along with many nieces and nephews who cherished her presence in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Parker, her parents, her sisters, Teena Richards, and Betty Jean McCarter; and her brother, Donny McCarter.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2025, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC, 29307.
Emma Jean Parker will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and love will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
