Mildred Rozier

Mildred Nokimos Porter Rozier, 84, of Moore, SC, died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 22, 1932, in Clifton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Frank and Nellie Carr Brown and wife of the late William "Bill" Porter. Mildred was retired from Phillips Conoco Fibers and also worked at Butte Knit for 23 years. She was a member of Southport Church (formerly Arkwright Baptist Church) and was a proud member of International Ladies Garment Union. Survivors include a daughter, Tena L. Gilliam of Moore, SC; son, Bobby Porter of Moore, SC; grandson, Cameron Gilliam of Moore, SC; sister, Sue Crowe of Gaffney, SC; brother, John Harvey Brown of Spartanburg, SC. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Porter Powell; and sisters, Mary Harris and Opal Owens. A Graveside service will be 4:00 PM Monday, May 16, 2016 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. James Blackwood. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside. Memorials may be made to Southport Church, 625 Southport Road, Spartanburg, SC 29376. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Tena Gilliam, 216 Rexford Drive, Moore, SC 29376.
