Michelle McAbee passed away peacefully in Spartanburg, on September 26, 2024, at the age of 53, surrounded by her family. Born on September 3, 1971, in Spartanburg to Dianne Caldwell Lawson and her father, the late Roger Carlton Lawson.
As the owner and operator of a home cleaning service for over 20 years, Michelle not only dedicated herself to her work but also cultivated lasting friendships with many of her customers. Michelle was known for her independence and her generous heart; she was always ready to help someone in need and would literally give the shirt off her back to those less fortunate. Her kindness made a significant impact on those around her.
Michelle had an incredible love for her dogs, often referring to herself as "a dog mama." Her deep affection for her furry companions often took precedence, as her home was filled with joy and laughter brought by her beloved pets.
An avid gardener, Michelle had a remarkable green thumb that was evident in her beautiful yard, which she tended to with love and care. Her favorite place to shop was Lowe's, particularly the garden center, where she found delight in selecting new plants and flowers.
Michelle is survived by her mother, Dianne Lawson of Spartanburg, SC, her sister, Sherrie Lawson (Tommy) Brooker of Sarasota, FL, and her nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Zackary, and Matthew. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Wendy Phillips of Inman, SC, who shared many memorable moments with her over the years.
In honor of Michelle, a private service will be held at a later date.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love and kindness she shared will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew her.
