Michael "Mike" Steven
Edmonds
August 19, 1950 – June 4, 2026
Michael “Mike” Steven Edmonds, age 75 of Westminster, South Carolina passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026.
The son of the late Frank and the late Phillis Edmonds, Mike was born on August 19, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana. His family moved to Toccoa, Georgia when he was nine months old and this is where he was raised. He graduated from Stephens County High School in 1968 and continued his education at the University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1973.
Mike retired from ZF Transmissions in 2019 and spent his career in Human Resources. He was passionate about developing training programs for young and seasoned managers, and he truly believed in representing every employee fairly and fully. His commitment to equity and fairness was a guiding principle throughout his professional life.
Mike had a deep love for music, travel, and his family. He cherished moments spent at home on Lake Hartwell, enjoying the beauty of sunsets, and the moonlit water at night. He enjoyed working with his hands, building furniture, landscaping, and tackling projects that enhanced the beauty of his home. He also enjoyed good food, family gatherings, and was a devoted Georgia football fan, proudly cheering for the Dawgs. Above all, he deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, and extended family.
Mike is survived by his wife, Smita Edmonds; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Smith, and Maggie and Adam Visk; his grandchildren, Luke, Ben, Isla, Mack, and Granger; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Sharon Edmonds, and Bobby and Terry Edmonds: as well as his brother-in law, Atul and Jaymini Patel, sister-in-law Trupti and Hiral Amin. He is also remembered fondly by his nephews Chris, Mark, Bryan, and Alan, along with their families.
Mike’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mike’s honor to the ALS Association at als.org.
