Matthew Tyler Reece, 30, of Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his residence.

Tyler was born in Gaffney, South Carolina, the son of Eddie Reece and the late Lisa Renee Fowler Reece. He was a member of the class of 2012 at Gaffney High School. He was a member of Goucher Baptist Church and was a salesman with GK Granite. Tyler was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan; GO DAWGS-SIC EM, WOOF, WOOF, WOOF. He also enjoyed fishing, and dirt track racing. He had a great sense of humor and could light up any room with laughter. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his many memories are his son: Jackson Motes; his father: Eddie Reece; sisters: Elizabeth “Noodle” Reece (Jason) and Tonya Taylor (Tony); a brother: William Reece (Margie); a uncle: Sherman Fowler; two aunts: Diane Walters (William) and Jeane Sanders. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends between 12:00 – 1:45 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM following the visitation with Rev. Bryon Inman and Rev. Williams Walters officiating. The burial will follow the service in Glendale Cemetery. Family will be at Memories Venue, 165 E Church Street, Cowpens following burial.

Tyler will be remembered in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

The arrangements are entrusted into the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
