Mary Petroski

Mary Elizabeth Fraser Petroski, 70, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Monday, February 8, 2016, at her home. Born October 7, 1945, in Midland, MI, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Ruth Dennis Fraser. Mrs. Petroski loved her Lord and family. She also loved dogs, cats, and traveling. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel the world with her son, Andy. A graduate of Michigan State University and Converse College, she received her Master's Degree in Education and retired after many years as an English, Drama, and Math teacher in South Carolina. She was a member of Joy Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the church book club and former choir member, and also a member of the Springfield Garden Club. Survivors include her husband, Walter James Petroski of the home; son, Andrew "Andy" James Petroski (Jennifer) of Huntersville, NC; twin sister, Myrna Andres of Manassas, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 9:30-10:45 AM Friday, February 12, 2016, at Joy Lutheran Church, 3980 Moore Duncan Hwy, Moore, SC 29369. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the church, conducted by Pastor Lane Bembenek and Pastor Ashley Twitchell. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Flowers will be accepted.
