Mary G. Pearman, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Spartanburg, SC. Born on Monday, June 10, 1940, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter to the late William Alton Greer and Mary Genell Condrey Greer.
In her early years, Mary pursued her education at Cecil's Business College, equipping herself with the skills that propelled her career forward. Mary dedicated over 34 years of her career to Reeves Brothers followed by more than a decade as an administrator at the Spartanburg County Jail.
A long-time member of Green Street Baptist Church, she later became actively involved with the First Baptist Church Spartanburg, where she found a sense of community and fellowship for over five years.
Mary was a vibrant soul, described as young at heart; loving, caring, and compassionate, though she could also be stern when needed. Her life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Always "on the go," Mary frequently enjoyed shopping and traveling, with special fondness for beach trips. She loved cooking, delighting her family with her famous annual Pecan Pie, which was always a surprise—whether it turned out burnt or runny.
Mary leaves behind her son, Trevis Pearman and wife, Mary Anne Pearman of Wellford; her daughter, Traci Pearman Worthy and husband, Ronald S. Worthy, Sr. of Spartanburg; her grandsons, Tyler Pearman of Boiling Springs and William Blain of Spartanburg; her great-grandchildren, Kaylin "KK" Pearman and Scarlett Blain; her sister, Rachel Jones of Spartanburg; and her sister-in-law, Lela Greer of Moore.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, William Jesse Pearman, Jr., as well as her sisters, Martha Greer and Rebecca Bledsoe, and her brothers, Raymond, Robert, Jimmy, and Glenn Greer.
A graveside service for Mary G. Pearman will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Rd, Moore, South Carolina, 29369. Services will be conducted by The Rev. Sal Barone, Rev. Larry Fleming and The Rev. Robert Collins.
