Mary Vinity Lipscomb, 99 passed away on Thursday, Sept 11, 2026, at Mary Black Campus of Spartanburg Regional Hospital. She was a resident at White Oak Estates in Spartanburg. She was the daughter of the late James W. and Minnie Smith Lipscomb.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Martin Lipscomb. She was a member of White Plain's Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Lipscomb (Princess) of Spartanburg, three granddaughters, Jessica Rogers (Allen) of Cumming, Ga., Jennifer Cash (Garrett) of Spartanburg, Samantha Franklin (Dean) of Anderson. She is also survived by six great grandsons, Adam and Braeden Rogers, Andrew and Jackson Cash, and Eli and Noah Franklin. Mary Vinity also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Mary Vinity was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Earl, and James Lipscomb and one great grandson, Jack Truman Rogers.

Mary Vinity was a wife, mother, and homemaker.

Graveside services will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on September 16 at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn 38105

The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Woodland Place and White Oak Estates for the extended care they provided for Mary Vinity. The kindness they showed enhanced Mary’s latter years.

A graveside service to honor the life of Mary Vinity Lipscomb will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Pastor Kristie Wilson will be officiating the service. The family will greet friends following the service. `
