Mary Frances Halcott, 84, of Taylors, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Mary was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Frank W. Davis and the late Frances Cambell Davis. She was also preceded by her husband of thirty-three years: Major Robert Freeman Halcott; a daughter: Lori Allison Dunagan.
Mary was a retired comptroller with Shoe Show Corporation and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking, playing the piano, and golfing. She was an avid reader and Danielle Steel was her favorite author. She and her late husband loved to travel. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Left to cherish Mary’s many wonderful memories are her son: Mark Dunagan; three grandchildren who called her “Mimi”: Amber Rhinehart (Heath), Cory Dunagan (Brie), and Riley Dunagan; great grandchildren: Easton Sullivan, Skylar Rhinehart, Ethan Rhinehart, Mason Dunagan, Alayna Dunagan, Colton Dunagan, and Angel Dunagan.
The family will receive friends between 12:00 to 12:50 PM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The funeral service to honor Mary’s life will begin after the visitation and will start at 1:00 PM with Rev. Tommy Comer officiating. The burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Waterstone on Augusta for their professional and compassionate care they render to Mary during her final days.
