Marlene Thomas Elliott 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Marlene was born November 27,1936, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late George and Connie Thomas.
One of Marlene's proudest accomplishments was her enduring marriage to her loving husband Joel Elliott for 56 years. Their bond was a true testament to the power of love and commitment. Marlene's dedication to her family was unwavering. Marlene worked for The Medical Group of the Carolinas division of Surgery for an impressive 37 years. She also was a longtime member of Glendale Baptist Church. Outside of work and family life, Marlene found joy in simple pleasures. She loved to shop, work on puzzles, and spending time with her beloved cat Annie. Her zest for life and genuine spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marlene is survived by her husband; Joel Elliott; A daughter; Pamela Craig (William); A granddaughter; Katie Mallinger (Rhys); A grandson; Read Williford (Allison); Great-grandsons; Jackson & Harrison Mallinger; a sister Peggy Thomas; and her cherished cat Annie. Marlene was preceded in death by her father George Thomas and mother Connie Varner Thomas.
Services to honor and celebrate Marlene's life will be held at The JF Floyd Mortuary Greenlawn Chapel located at: 2075 East Main Street Spartanburg, SC 29307 on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, her funeral service will held at the same location from 1:00- 2:00 PM. The burial will be held at: Greenlawn Memorial Gardens located at:1300 Fernwood- Glendale Road Spartanburg, South Carolina 29307 at 2:00 PM.
