Marion Wayne Tweed

Marion Wayne Tweed, 90, of Boiling Springs, passed away on Tuesday evening, July 2, 2024, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Wayne was born on June 26, 1934, in Johnson City, TN, a son of the late Stacy Edward and Mable Wells Tweed. 

Wayne was a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee and served in the US Air Force. He was the Vice President of Engineering for Spartan Mills with over 26 years of service. He also taught Solid Works Engineering at Spartanburg Technical College for over 50 years. A licensed pilot, Wayne was a flight instructor and grounds school instructor with the Spartanburg Downtown Airport and Spartanburg Technical College. 

Wayne was a member of First Baptist Church-Spartanburg where he enjoyed participating with The Encouraging Word team. 

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Nellie Ruth Tant Tweed; his daughters, Scarlett Denise Larko of Indiana and Kathryn Lynn Kincaid of Irmo, SC; his five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Jerry Tweed Goodnight of Lenoir, NC. 

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the E. Gibson Davis Chapel at First Baptist Church-Spartanburg, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, conducted by the Rev. Duane Ostrem and the Rev. Sal Barone. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Encouraging Word, First Baptist Church - Spartanburg at 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
