Marion Hurt

Marion Kelpe Hurt, 81, of Moore, SC, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at RoseCrest Healthcare Center-Inman. Born August 1, 1933, in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Helen Frenzel Kelpe. Mrs. Hurt was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church. She was a devoted mother and wife, an artist who enjoyed skiing - both water and snow, and bowling. Survivors include her beloved husband of 57 years, William Ray Hurt of the home; four children, Bret Kenneth Hurt of Huntsville, AL, Darren Stewart Hurt of St. Charles, MO, Gretchen Gayle Smith of Birmingham, AL, and Nora Elaine Boehm of Imperial, MO; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Helen Roschke; and brother, Richard Kelpe. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, January 5, 2015, at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 1645 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. John R. Rickert. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
