Margie West McArthur

Margie West McArthur, 92, of Glenn Springs, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 20, 2025, at her home. Margie was born on August 28, 1932, in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late Ed. B. and Margaret Etta Smith West.

Margie was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and was retired from Spartanburg General Hospital with over 30 years of service.

Surviving is her daughter, Debra Gossett (Charles) of Glenn Springs; her son, Steve McArthur of the home; her 3 grandchildren, Tammy Horne, Katie Smith and Chip Miller; 4 great-grandchildren, Kim, Corey, Shelby and Kevin; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Davina, Tyler, Natalie and Anniston; and two sisters, Anna Laura West and Nancy Turner. Along with her parents, Margie was predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. McArthur; two children, Kathy Smith and Eddie Joe McArthur; and a brother, Charles E. West.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 853 Sulphur Springs Road, Jonesville, SC 29353, conducted by the Rev. Richard W. Dickens. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
