Margaret Ann Jordan Sippola slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 30, 2026. She was born in Edgefield County on May 24, 1940 to George Calhoun Jordan Jr. and Aurelia Flynn Jordan. As the family grew they moved to the Callison community in southern Greenwood County.
Margaret Ann graduated Greenwood High School and Lander College with a degree in education which provided the tools she needed to teach for 32 years. She was privileged to teach in Columbia, Florence, and Spartanburg. She shared her love for teaching with many students, leaving each with the impact of her legacy. But her family was her real pride and joy. Upon retirement she enjoyed having time to spend with her grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as Mema.
Margaret Ann was a dedicated member of Second Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg. Her love of God and her attention to the work of the church was unprecedented. She worked tirelessly on many jobs as well as holding the position of Elder. While busily tending to the work of the church she met Bert Sippola and realizing they had many things in common, they married in May 2015. This union took them near and far as they enjoyed traveling, concerts, and plays, and even the New Orleans Jazz Festival.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law Frank Watson, and her first husband Joseph Cunningham, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Bertram Sippola. A son, Joseph Mcleese Cunningham III ( Leslie ) and daughter, Margaret Cunningham Watson (Meg) Grandchildren, Ryan Watson, Emily Taylor (Ian), Lani Coster (Jake), Kimberly Watson, Kayla Watson , and Todd Cunningham (Chandler).
