It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret Hatter Keller, who departed this life peacefully in her sleep during the early hours of October 23, 2025. Margaret was born, October 1, 1945, she was the daughter of the late William Allison Hatter and Louella Lockhart Hatter.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, and raised in Gold Hill, Alabama, Margaret carried with her the warmth, grace, and strength of her Southern roots throughout her life.
Margaret touched countless lives through her remarkable career in nursing, retiring as the Director of Nursing at Magnolia Place in Spartanburg, SC. Her compassion, leadership, and dedication to care extended far beyond her workplace, as she often shared her knowledge through lectures at various healthcare facilities across Upstate South Carolina.
To many, she was Margaret—a respected professional and dear friend—but to her family, she was lovingly known as Mom or Granny, a guiding light and source of endless love.
Her heart found peace and happiness at her beloved home, affectionately known as “Keller Hill,” where family gatherings, laughter, and memories were always abundant. She also cherished her love of travel, especially her many joyful visits to Key West and Margaritaville.
Margaret is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Harold Keller, A sister Mary Allison Lauderdale (Bernard) of Gold Hill, Alabama, a brother, William Allen Hatter (Jody) of Gold Hill, Alabama, her sons, William A. Watts (Su) of Doral, Florida, and Keith Watts (Kristina) of Mayo, South Carolina, and her daughter, Candace Litwin (Steve) of Enoree, South Carolina. She was the proud grandmother and great-grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8;00 pm, Monday, October 27, 2025, Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N., Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Her final resting place will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, Boiling Springs, South Carolina. Services will be conducted by Hospice Chaplain Terry Candler.
Margaret’s life was one of compassion, laughter, and love—her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
