Margaret Huff

Mary Margaret Cecil Huff, 93, of 400 Webber Road, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. She was born April 7, 1916, in Anderson and reared in Spartanburg and was the daughter of the late Levi Moffitt and Inez Felder Cecil. She attended Southside Elementary School, was a graduate of Frank Evans High School, Cecil's Business College and Converse College. Mrs. Huff was the secretary for Rev. Dr. Dick at First Presbyterian Church and taught typing at Cecil's Business College. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg and a former member of various book and garden clubs. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Livingston Huff, Sr.; a son, Wayne Livingston Huff, Jr. and wife Patricia of Daufuskie Island, SC; a daughter, Metta Jean Luttmann and husband Victor of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Gretchen Smith and husband Bradley, Megan Huff and husband Greg McGann, Victoria Tyler Gaviria and husband Sebastian; great-grandchildren, Caroline Smith, Carlie Smith and Reagan Smith; brothers, Charles F. Cecil and wife Alice of Columbus, NC, Dr. Henry S. Cecil and wife Betty of Lafayette Hill, PA, and Dr. Robert M. Cecil and wife Dorothy of State College, PA; and a sister, Jean F. McAdams of Morganton, NC. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard F. and Lillian Cecil, and Dr. L. Moffitt and Edie Cecil; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Robert (Mac) McAdams. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009, in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Susan Moorefield. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Parlor. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cecil Family Scholarship Fund at Wofford College, 429 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
