Margaret Burns Campbell, 87, of Spartanburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.  Born on October 29, 1936, in Greenville, SC, Margaret was the daughter of the late Sarah Louise Gilliard Burns and Theron M. “Tip” Burns.  She was married to the late Allen H. Campbell, Jr.

 

Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church-Spartanburg where she attended the Lana Mahaffey Sunday School Class. She retired after serving 30 years as a secretary at Fairforest Middle School.

 

Surviving are her daughters, Tam Gregory (Clark) of Spartanburg, and Shari Turner (Jim) of Inman; her son, Mitch Campbell (Sherri) of Spartanburg; her grandchildren, Wil Gregory, Sallie Hammett (David), Alec Turner (Kasey) and Allee Campbell; 4 great-grandchildren and 2 additional great-grands scheduled to arrive in the near future.  Along with her husband and her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her oldest son, Dr. Ric Campbell.

 

A memorial service to honor the life of Margaret will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2024, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone and the Rev. Monty King.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
