Maggie Davis Roth, born, Maggie Lou Davis on February 11, 1946, in Hazelhurst, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.
Maggie's career took her to various places where she left an indelible mark. As a manager, she worked at Carver Jr. High School, Hersey Management Co., Hoke Inc., and served as a property manager for apartments. Through her diligence and dedication, she excelled in her profession and garnered the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Education played a significant role in Maggie's life. She earned an associate degree in business from Spartanburg Technical College. This knowledge provided her with the skills necessary for her successful career and instilled in her a lifelong love of learning.
Outside of her professional life, Maggie had a passion for various activities that brought joy to her days. She loved immersing herself in the captivating worlds of books through her cherished Kindle. The power of music moved her deeply, particularly the timeless performances of Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and the rhythms of disco. Furthermore, Maggie’s adventurous spirit carried her across continents as she traveled to remarkable destinations including Israel, Switzerland, Morocco with memories that will forever be treasured. Additionally, she embarked on a memorable journey aboard the Queen Elizabeth II.
Maggie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Willy Roth, to whom she was devoted until his passing in 2019. She also joined her parents, Charlie and Clara Davis Roth who preceded her in death.
Maggie leaves behind a rich legacy of love and family bonds. Her memory will forever be treasured by her two sons, William Roth (Michelle), Michael Roth (Mindy), grandchildren; Travis Roth (Katie), William Matthew Roth, Michael Scott Roth (Emma), Jacob Roth (Katie), Brianna Roth, Micheala Roth (fiancé Jerry Hernandez), Ali Swafford (Landon), and Hayden Roth, as well as four great-grandchildren; Elijah, Xander, Xaiver, and Archer. Each of them will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.
To honor her life and pay respects to Maggie, at the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 PM, Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel located at 2075 E Main St in Spartanburg, SC.
Maggie had an undeniable impact on the lives she touched. She was a woman of grace, warmth, and compassion. Her love for those around her was boundless, extending even to her beloved dog, Sam.
As we bid farewell to Maggie, let us remember her infectious laughter, her zest for life, and the enduring love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her. Her family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for all their care and love for Maggie.
