Lewis "Lew" Ware Flint, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 25, 1938, in Morristown, NJ, he was the son of the late Edward Fortson Flint and Lorraine Lewis Flint. A man of faith who loved the Lord, his family, and friends, Mr. Flint retired from the U. S. Navy after 28 years of service. He was a Navigator in a P-3 Orion (sub hunter) during the Vietnam War, then went into Administration, attaining the final rank of Commander. He was a graduate of Wofford College where he played football and he also loved playing golf. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Graves Flint; sons, Jeffrey L. Flint (KiNang) of Huntsville, AL and Edward W. Flint of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Cyndi Flint of Huntsville, AL, Allie Flint of Auburn, AL, and William Flint of Spartanburg, SC; and sister, Lynn Sailors (Jerry) of Franklin, TN. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with a memorial service, and military honors, following at 2:00 PM, conducted by Pastor Gary Rash and the U. S. Navy Honors Team.
