Leonard R. Waldrop, 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Born in Inman on May 5, 1952, he was a son of the late R.L. Waldrop and Viola Hammett Waldrop. He lived a life centered around family, hard work, and simple things.

Leonard retired as a supervisor from the Tietex Company after many years of dedicated service. He was a simple man who enjoyed golfing, tennis, and bowling. One of Leonard’s favorite stories to share was how he met the love of his life at an ice cream shop. Leonard and his beloved wife, Susan shared 47 wonderful years of marriage together.

Surviving are his loving wife, Susan Waldrop; his sons: Ryan Waldrop and Christian Waldrop; his grandson, Caleb Waldrop; his sister-in-law, Janice Riddle; and his sisters: Ann Johnson (Johnny) and Mary Deaton. He was predeceased by three sisters: Rebecca Walters, Evelyn McLyea, and Sherry Clark.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens,1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Leonard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
