Lelainia "Lainy" Mccooey

Lelainia "Lainy" Lynn McCooey, 45, passed away March 11, 2022, from an automotive accident. Born November 5, 1976 in Manassas, Virginia, and grew up in Cartersville, Georgia, she was the daughter of Geri McNeil.

She was a loving wife and mother with an incredible spirit. Lainy loved to draw and appreciated being outdoors. She attended the Savannah School of Arts and Design for two and a half years in Savannah, Georgia. She especially enjoyed music and visiting Tybee Island. Lainy graduated from Dorman High School in Spartanburg, SC.

Survivors include her husband, James "Jim" McCooey of Claxton, GA, her daughter, Rosa Gene McCooey of the home, her mother, Geri McNeil of Spartanburg, SC, and her brother, Gene McNeil of Spartanburg, SC.

A Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Union United Methodist Church, 4659 Joe Kennedy Road, Collins, GA 30421.
