Kathleen Smith

Kathleen “Kathy” Montgomery McArthur Smith, 70, wife of the late Lawrence Wayne Smith, died Thursday, January 27, 2022, at her home.  Born September 14, 1951, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Margie West McArthur of Glenn Springs and the late Joe McArthur.

Kathy was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and loved to fish, sew and crochet.  She was a graduate of Dorman High School.

Survivors are two daughters, Tammie McArthur Horne (Ricky Wayne) and Katherine Nicole Smith.  Grandchildren, Corey Joseph Horne, Shelby Brook Horne (Hunter Shaw Reno Echols) and Kevin Lee Jordan.  A brother, Steven Perry McArthur and a sister, Debra McArthur Gossett (Charles S. Gossett).   In addition to her father and her husband, Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a brother, Eddie Joe McArthur.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022, 2:00PM, at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church cemetery conducted by Rev. Richard Dickens.  Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.
