Joshua Williams

Joshua Lee Williams, 44, of Inman, SC, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, February 17, 2023, after a brave battle with cancer.  Born on January 6, 1979, in Rock Hill, SC, he was a son of Salli Ann Davis and Pat Williams.

Joshua graduated high school in Franklin, PA, and worked around upstate South Carolina in automobile sales before switching careers to the manufacturing industry, most recently at Johns Manville.  He met the love of his life, Georgiana Williams, in 2005, and they spent 18 wonderful years together.  They were blessed with two children, Sadie, and John.

Joshua will be remembered for his strong work ethic to support his family, and his sharp, subtle, and dry sense of humor.  He was esteemed by his co-workers, and he was an upstanding member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Spartanburg, SC.  He considered himself a hermit and was happiest spending time with his wife and children.  He was a voracious reader with a fondness for science fiction and fantasy and was an avid collector of strategy and board games.  Joshua found peace in the outdoors in kayaking, hiking, and camping in western North Carolina with his family.

Joshua is survived by his wife, Georgiana Williams; his children Sadie and John Williams; his mother, Salli Ann David; his father, Pat Williams and stepmother, Dana Williams; his brothers, Matt Speth, PJ, and Dell Williams; his stepbrother, Adam Mullinax.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert, and Pauline (Small) Williams and Heyward and Sadie (Gordon) Davis.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2023, 12:00-12:45 PM at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 697 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC, 29303 with Funeral Services following at 1:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. George Nayfa.  Burial will follow in Converse Gardens of West Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of memorial may be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1107, Spartanburg, SC 29304.

Joshua will be missed by all who knew him, but his loved ones find comfort in knowing he is now at peace with his Lord.
