Josephine Blalock Seay, 88, of Roebuck passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, with her family by her side. Born February 23, 1938, in Spartanburg, SC. She was the daughter of the late Clyde W. Blalock, Sr. and Alma Alverson Blalock.

She was a graduate of Fairforest High School and Cecil’s Business College. She was retired from The Carolina Country Club where she was the receptionist for over 10 years.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John F. Seay; son, Mark Seay and his wife, Lynn; daughters, Joy Zalanick and her husband Marc and Jill Seay. Grandchildren: Caroline McGraw and her husband Parker, Ethan Seay and his fiancée, Celeste and Hannah Rimmel and her husband, Logan. Great-grandchildren: Lily McGraw, Cade McGraw (due October 2026) and Rhylee Melton. Her special nephew who was like a brother, Paul Allen, and many more nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Clyde, Benny, Bill and Charles, and a sister, Helen.

She was a loving mother, wife, Nana and friend. She loved her family and will be missed immensely.

We would like to thank her caregivers over the last six years, Rita, Lisa and Sherry for the love and care they gave her. We also would like to thank Amber, Stephanie and Colby from Interim Health and the staff from Spartanburg Regional Hospice, especially Amy, her RN. We appreciate the care and guidance you all gave in her final days.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 12:00 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In case of rain, the services will be held in the Chapel at Floyd’s Greenlawn Mortuary, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Jill Seay, 150 Bradford Crossing Drive, Roebuck.
