Joseph Sayre

Joseph G. Sayre, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at RoseCrest Healthcare-Inman. Born April 5, 1923, in Columbus, OH, he was the son of the late Jasper D. Sayre and Grace Williams Sayre and husband of 52 years to the late Mary Louise Brewer Sayre. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Sayre was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and retired from Milliken & Company as an engineering physicist. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, May 6, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Mike Shackelford. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 415 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
