Jonathan "John" Roger Cash

Jonathan “John” Cash joined his ancestors in Valhalla, on Friday, June 23, 2023. 

To become one of the greats comes with learning from the past. Don’t worry it takes time, effort, pain, laughter, and a dark sense of humor. Jonathan "John" Roger Cash embodied every one of those traits and took most lessons life gave him, learned from them, and lived his life evolving into the great man he was until he left this world behind. He was strong-willed, stubborn, and a little shit-head. More than anything John was an awesome human and even better daddy to his boys. No, he didn’t light up the room when he walked in. He was better than that. He was legendary, always willing to help someone even if it was a serial killer. 

John is survived by his ride or die, future Mrs. Cash, Samantha "Sam" Dieguez Hijuelos, his two wonderful, amazing boys, Sterling Gabriel, and Jonathan David "JD". His mother, Kimberly Greenway (Rick), father, Joseph Cash, and Nana, Mary Lee Cash (grandfather, the late Roger Cash). His grandparents, the late Harold R. Ellis, Sr. and the late Judy Emory “NannyGranny”. His future in-laws, Margie and Manny Hijuelos, and David Hijuelos; four sisters, Christy Hawkins (Chad), Ashley Cash (John Campbell), Jessica Rorie (Christopher), and Alana Green (Michael); one brother, Timothy "Timmy" Cash (Donna); nieces and nephews, Erica and Caleb Hawkins, Kyler, and Kaden Rorie, Annabelle Green, Brittany, Chelsie, and Bryan Cash. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 11:45am on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301.  His Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 pm in the Chapel. 

In lieu of flowers, the family will set up a trust to help educate John’s sons. Information will be announced when it is finalized.
