John Jordan

John A. “Johnny” Jordan, 72, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on November 5, 2022, at his home with his friends and family. Born November 27, 1949, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late John Walton and Louise Sistare Jordan.

Johnny graduated from Spartanburg High School and Gardner-Webb University. He worked at A.T. Sistare Construction from High school until retirement.

A member of Converse Lodge #343 A.F.M., Johnny was also a life member of Spartanburg Commandery No. 3, Chicora Chapter #33, and Blake Council #19, all of Duncan, SC.

Johnny loved to travel; he took several fishing trips down the Edisto River to Charleston, many golf trips to Santee, and went on a few cruises with his family.

Johnny loved his family and his friends dearly and was rarely seen without his dog. Johnny was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1994. He fought long and hard for 28 years and has now won the fight. He lived the best life anyone could hope for. Johnny will be missed & never forgotten.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Jordan Hook (Brian) of Greenwood, SC; son, John Michael Jordan of Massapequa, NY; sisters, Carmen Loudermilk (Wayne) of Spartanburg, SC and Jackie Brown (John) of Lake Wiley, NC; and grandchildren, Kaylee Jordan of Columbia, SC, John Tyler Jordan of Massapequa, NY, and Olivia Jordan of Massapequa, NY. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Sean Tyler Dunn.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Sharon Ervin for her eight years of care for Johnny.

Visitation will be 11:45 am – 12:45 pm on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the chapel, conducted by Pastor Randy Lewis, Mr. Ralph Smith, and Mr. Michael Scardato. Committal with Masonic Rites will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Spanish Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
