Jessie Poteat

Jessie "Nanny" M. Poteat, 88, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Golden Age Nursing Home-Inman. Born April 22, 1924, in Pacolet Mills, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clem and Ella Gilliam Mabry. She was retired from Pinewood Cafeteria and was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Brown and husband Lawrence Brown of Campobello; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughters, Mary Graves, Brenda Millwood, and Janice Honbarger; sisters, Eva Harrison and Mary Pugh; and brother, Ardell Mabry. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, August 6, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by Pastor Joey Turner. Visitation will be at the graveside.
